Before You Send
For data verification or methodology questions, include the article URL, source name, and the specific figure or claim you want us to review.
What to write to us
The most useful messages name a specific page and a specific claim. If a figure looks wrong, paste the page address, quote the number, and tell us which source you checked it against, for example an EIA Weekly Petroleum Status Report table, an OPEC Monthly Oil Market Report page, or a Baker Hughes release. We compare it with the cited source, and if we find a mistake we fix the page and add a dated correction note.
Other good reasons to write: a broken link, a chart that does not match the table beside it, a data series that looks stale, a request to cite a primary source we missed, or a question about how a number on the site is calculated. What we cannot do
PetroEyes is a publisher of educational market research. We cannot tell you whether to buy or sell a stock, futures contract or fund, cannot review your portfolio, and cannot give legal or tax advice. Messages asking for a trade recommendation will get a pointer to our disclaimer and nothing more.
We do not sell sponsored articles, and we do not change coverage in exchange for payment. How we handle errors, updates and conflicts is set out in the editorial policy.
Response expectations
This is a small editorial operation. Correction requests that include a page address and a source are read first, usually within a few business days. General feedback may only get a reply when action is needed. Please do not send passwords, account numbers or other sensitive personal data through the form. See the privacy policy for how submitted messages are handled.
What happens after a correction request
We re-fetch the source you name and the source the page cites. If the page is wrong, we change the figure, update the page's check date, and note what changed. If the page is right but unclear, we rewrite the passage so the unit, date or definition is stated outright. If the two sources disagree, the page says so and names both. Data series that are revised by their publisher, such as EIA weekly estimates replaced by monthly survey data, are updated on the next refresh rather than one figure at a time.
